About Lutz Cemetery
From our Family to Yours
Established in 1911 on land donated by C.E. Thomas of the North Tampa Land Company, Lutz Cemetery has served as a cherished resting place for generations of local families, veterans, and community pioneers. The cemetery's first burial, Mr. Nims in 1914, marked the beginning of its enduring legacy as a historic landmark in Lutz, Florida.
Today, American Legion Post 108 of Land O' Lakes proudly maintains and operates the cemetery, honoring its rich heritage while ensuring it remains a dignified, peaceful sanctuary. With graves dating back over a century, the cemetery reflects the stories of early settlers, war heroes, and beloved community members who shaped Lutz's history.
We are committed to preserving this sacred ground through careful maintenance, historical documentation, and community engagement. Whether you're visiting to pay respects, research genealogy, or connect with local history, Lutz Cemetery stands as a timeless tribute to those who came before us.

A Place For Veterans To Call Home.
The American Legion Post 108 is proud to call Plantation Palms Golf Club Home. The management and staff of this premier semi-private golf course have embraced our Post with open arms offering a free social membership to all American Legion Post 108 members.
Since its founding, American Legion Post 108 in Land O' Lakes has proudly served veterans and the Lutz community. As caretakers of historic Lutz Cemetery since 2024, we maintain this sacred ground with reverence, ensuring proper tribute to veterans and local families. Our members - veterans from all branches of service - uphold the Legion's mission of patriotism, remembrance, and community service.
Beyond cemetery stewardship, Post 108 actively supports veterans' welfare, youth programs, and patriotic initiatives. We host memorial ceremonies, provide veteran assistance resources, and foster camaraderie among those who served. The Legion's commitment to "Veterans Strengthening America" is evident in our cemetery preservation, community outreach, and advocacy for those who have defended our nation.
We invite all eligible veterans to join our ranks and community members to support our mission of honoring service and preserving local history.
