Patriots’ Way is an opportunity to leave a permanent mark on the history of Historic Lutz Cemetery while helping us build something meaningful for the future. This commemorative brick walkway will be created from individually engraved bricks honoring the people, families, veterans, organizations, and stories that matter to our community. Each brick will become part of the cemetery grounds—a lasting reminder that history is made up of individual lives and the people who choose to remember them.
Your brick can honor a veteran, remember a loved one, celebrate a friend or family member, recognize an organization or group, or commemorate someone whose story deserves a permanent place in our community. You do not need to have a family member buried at Historic Lutz Cemetery to participate. Patriots’ Way is for anyone who would like to preserve a name, recognize a legacy, or simply become part of the continuing story of this 115-year-old historic cemetery.
Even more importantly, the funds raised through Patriots’ Way will benefit the Veterans Honor Garden project. By purchasing a brick, you are doing two things at once: creating a permanent piece of Patriots’ Way and helping Historic Lutz Cemetery develop a dedicated place where veterans can be honored, remembered, and celebrated for generations to come.

Our engraved bricks are produced and shipped in groups, with a minimum order of 50 bricks required for each shipment. That makes our first milestone especially important. We need our community's help to reach those first 50 bricks and begin bringing Patriots’ Way to life.

Funding the Veterans Honor Garden
Every brick placed along Patriots’ Way helps us move one step closer to creating the Veterans Honor Garden at Historic Lutz Cemetery. Funds raised through the Patriots’ Way campaign will benefit this important project, transforming each personal tribute into support for a permanent place dedicated to remembering and honoring the men and women who served our country.
The Veterans Honor Garden is envisioned as a beautiful gathering and reflection space within the cemetery, incorporating the American flag, military service flags, POW/MIA flag, Florida flag, monuments, seating, landscaping, and meaningful memorial features. It will provide families with a special place to remember their veterans while creating a setting where our community can gather for ceremonies, observances, education, and quiet reflection.
With more than 220 veterans entrusted to our care, honoring military service is an important part of the mission of Historic Lutz Cemetery. The Honor Garden will help us carry that commitment into the future—creating a place where a child can learn what service means, where a family can remember someone they love, and where our community can continue the simple but powerful tradition of saying their names and remembering their stories.

How The Veterans Honor Garden Supports the Missing in America Project
The Missing in American Project is a non-profit organization supported by The American Legion through a resolution. Lutz Cemetery's Veterans Honor Garden will be a place where the Missing in America Project can inter identified veteran cremains at no charge or expense.
The Missing in America Veterans Recovery Program (MIAP) (EIN: 20-8408832) is a Federal recognized Non-Profit Veterans Organization for the identification, verification, and movement of Veterans and their Dependents.
Donations made directly to Lutz Cemetery on behalf of The Veterans Honor Garden will be applied to the construction and maintenance of this particular Garden, as well as the cost of interment for these cremains within this Garden.

The cremated remains of veterans, many simply forgotten by their families and friends, await interment and military honors.
Today, the Missing in America Project - MIAP - is seeking what could potentially be tens of thousands of unburied U.S. veterans who served America in uniform.
Their stories have begun to emerge from the shadows of storage rooms.
The American Legion, by resolution, supports the efforts of the Missing in America Project.
