For over a century, Lutz Cemetery has served as a final resting place for veterans, pioneers, and families who helped shape our community. To ensure this sacred space meets modern standards while preserving its historical significance, we have launched the Lutz Cemetery Renovation Project—an ongoing initiative to enhance accessibility, beauty, and functionality for generations to come.
Why Renovate?
As a historic cemetery, Lutz Cemetery requires updates to:

Lutz Cemetery Renovation Projects
Veterans' Honor Garden
The Veterans' Honor Garden is reserved for the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans, and for families with limited means who are unable to cover the expenses associated with the interment of their veteran loved one's cremated remains. All interred in the Veterans' Honor Garden will receive full military honors by the American Legion Post 108 Honor Guard.
You can make a direct donation for an interment or support by purchasing a Patriots' Way brick.
Patriots' Way
Patriots' Way offers an opportunity to honor someone special, remember a loved one, share a special memory, or showcase your company's support with a custom-engraved brick on Patriots' Way. Each brick becomes a lasting tribute and a visible sign of your commitment to remembrance, community, and support.
Funds raised will be used to create the Lutz Cemetery Veterans' Honor Garden. Please click the link below to support this important project.
Legacy Lane
Stretching peacefully along the length of the cemetery's northern edge, Legacy Lane is a dignified and contemplative space for remembrance and reflection. Legacy Lane will be along Patriots' Way with parks and sitting areas for visitors.
Guardians Gate
The Guardians Gate will integrate the cemetery's west side road-facing fence with intermittent niches for beloved service and law enforcement animals. The premise is that of ongoing protection as these loyal companions continue their watch and guardianship.
The Whispering Garden
Coming Summer 2026!
The Whispering Garden will be a sacred space that allows a loved one to be part of the living landscape amongst carefully placed wind chimes that provide melodic tones - each note a whisper of love. The Whispering Garden, often referred to as a Scattering Garden, will be located at the east edge of Lutz Cemetery.
The Companion Garden
Coming Summer 2026!
The Companion Garden is a thoughtfully designed space to honor the unconditional love and loyalty of cherished animal companions. The Companion Garden will be located near the south eastern border of the cemetery and will feature a reflection pond, meditation area, and lush parks.
