Honoring Veterans at Lutz Cemetery

Full Military Honors

Lutz Cemetery is honored to recognize the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans and service members. We offer Full Military Honors for eligible veterans and service members, coordinated with The American Legion Post 108 Honor Guard - a local group dedicated to preserving the dignity and tradition of military service.

Every veteran and service member has taken an oath to protect and serve - often at great personal sacrifice. Providing full military honors is a small but powerful way to say thank you for a life of courage, duty, and patriotism. To the members of The American Legion Post 108 Honor Guard, this service is more than ceremony - it is a sacred duty. Each salute, each folded flag, and every blast of the cannon is performed with deep respect, emotion, and gratitude. For the Honor Guard, it is a privilege to stand in tribute to a fellow veteran, ensuring their legacy is remembered with the honor it deserves.

A Sacred Trust

A cemetery owned and operated by an American Legion Post holds a unique and deeply meaningful significance for veterans and their families. Honoring veterans goes far beyond the moment of interment. Here, every name etched in stone is part of a living legacy- one that is actively remembered, spoken aloud, and saluted year after year.

Throughout the calendar year, special ceremonies ensure that our heroes are never forgotten. Whether on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or during unique post-led events, each veteran's name is read aloud - giving voice to their legacy and presence. Fellow veterans and community members stand in respectful silence, offering salutes, laying flags, and whispering heartfelt thank-you's into the quiet air.

These moments are more than tradition- they are acts of devotion. They remind us that sacrifice deserves more than a headstone. It deserves to be remembered, honored, and spoken of- again and again.

In this sacred space, memory is not passive. It is an action. A promise kept by those who served, for those who served. Forever.
