Meet Mike Lowell, Veteran Service Officer

Mike Lowell serves as Post Service Officer and Executive Committee member for American Legion Post 108. He is passionate about helping the veteran community connect to valuable resources they deserve but may not know about.

Mike is a US Navy veteran who, after his service, spent over 25 years in the security industry helping companies and people mitigate risk to increase everyone's safety. During this time, Mike developed and taught a course for employees to survive Active Shooter Threats. After several years of operations management, he turned his attention to recruiting and career counseling; setting employees up for success in their careers. In addition to his professional experience, Mike served with Rotary Club International for over two decades. He filled various volunteer and leadership positions at both the club and district levels.

More recently, Mike realized that veterans are struggling with varied issues and are unaware of the resources available to them. Mike refocused his desire to help people into a commitment to making sure every veteran is aware of and connected to all the resources and benefits they earned. This commitment includes helping veterans navigate benefits to support them throughout their lives, as well as what may be available to them at the time of their passing. He is working with Lutz Cemetery on their revitalization project, providing veterans and their families valuable resources to explore before they are faced with the overwhelming and stressful eventuality of passing. All sacrificed some, some sacrificed all, all are deserving of respect and help.

The American Legion Post 108

A Place For Veterans To Call Home.

The American Legion Post 108 is proud to call Plantation Palms Golf Club Home. The management and staff of this premier semi-private golf course have embraced our Post with open arms offering a free social membership to all American Legion Post 108 members.

Since its founding, American Legion Post 108 in Land O' Lakes has proudly served veterans and the Lutz community. As caretakers of historic Lutz Cemetery since 2024, we maintain this sacred ground with reverence, ensuring proper tribute to veterans and local families. Our members - veterans from all branches of service - uphold the Legion's mission of patriotism, remembrance, and community service.

Beyond cemetery stewardship, Post 108 actively supports veterans' welfare, youth programs, and patriotic initiatives. We host memorial ceremonies, provide veteran assistance resources, and foster camaraderie among those who served. The Legion's commitment to "Veterans Strengthening America" is evident in our cemetery preservation, community outreach, and advocacy for those who have defended our nation.

We invite all eligible veterans to join our ranks and community members to support our mission of honoring service and preserving local history.
